THE BRAKE PROPORTIONING VALVE REBUILDING PROCESS

The Bendix 0411 brake proportioning valve can be found in many different GM lines.

From early 70’s chevy trucks to OldmobilesChevelles.

When we receive a brake proportioning valve for rebuilding services, we do the following:

When we receive a brake proportioning valve for rebuilding services, the first thing we do is:
  •  Degrease and clean the outer valve body. Then we carefully disassemble and evaluate all the internal hard parts and the valve body bores.
  • We strongly do not endorse using heat to loosen any nut on the body. Heat will melt O-rings and cup seals. Some of which are irreplaceable and hard to find or are not available.
  • Internal valves are cleaned and polished, O-rings and U-cups are replaced with special brake fluid resistant O-rings and U-cups. The bores are cleaned up and semi-polished and everything is reassembled with special brake fluid compatible lube.
  • We then put each valve on our special “test stand” and check both brake circuits for flow and pressure test for leaks. After all that, we bag and box it up and send it back to you.

The shipping cost, parts and tax is included in the payment.

Why Rebuild?

These brake proportioning valves are at least 30 to 40+ years old and most are never flushed. 30+ years with the same fluid mixed with moisture and internal corrosion creates a black tar like substance which eats away at the internal seals.      These valves were not designed to be rebuilt. Nor the cars were not expected to last decades either. We searched for the right internal seals and special cup seals some of these valves used and now can rebuild 95% of the American made valves out there.
